Quite often I have people ask the meaning behind the name of our business, Dirt Road Photography. Yes, it's a pretty generic name that is obviously easy to remember. But there's so much more to the name!

I grew up on a farm, both sets of my grandparents were farmers, my dad was a farmer and I went to college to receive an Agricultural Degree focusing on crops. In high school I was an active member of the FFA and participated in tons of 4H activities. I was the typical farm kid and my first vehicle was a truck that I begged for. I’ve always embraced the farm life and everything surrounding it.

I ended up marrying my farmer boy and we’ve been together for nearly ten years now. I married into farm family that focuses on rotation crop farming (corn/soybeans/wheat) and cattle. During the spring I run the boys to tractors or sprayers, during the summer I help chase trailers of pipe and in the fall sometimes I'm found in a tractor cab chasing my farmer around trying to catch the combine and keep the grain trucks full. Agriculture has always surrounded my life and for that I am so grateful.

Our farm is located right on a dirt road, literally, if you take a left out of our driveway, you'll hit dirt. Which means, I've spent a lot of time on that road.

From shooting sessions to going out for a run, that dirt road has given me many amazing memories. I absolutely love sharing this dirt road with all of my clients. Just like myself, I know this dirt road can give all of my clients so many beautiful memories to hang on their walls or share in portrait albums with their family and friends.
